Between work, family, school and everything else that needs to be done, sometimes another birthday invitation arrives and I realise… I need to find another present.
For my family or someone very special, I think about the gift well in advance. I enjoy planning it, choosing something personal and making sure it feels just right for that person.
But with children, and especially teenagers, it can feel like there is a never-ending stream of birthday parties. There isn’t always time to plan weeks ahead, even though I still want to give something thoughtful and a little different.
I want the person receiving it to feel that it was chosen especially for them.
I’ve never really liked giving a gift just for the sake of giving one.
Finding something unique, personalised and beautifully presented was often expensive.
More affordable gifts could feel ordinary, while creating something special myself usually meant visiting several shops, buying different things and then finding the time to put it all together.
I wanted to create gifts that already feel like a celebration: beautiful, fun and personal, but also easy to choose and easy to give.
A teddy bear, flowers, chocolates or a personalised message can be brought together inside a balloon and turned into something much more memorable than an ordinary present.
